Events & Workshops

At MOMU, creativity doesn’t stop at the clothes and goods on our shelves — it comes to life in our community, too. Our Events & Workshops are all about sparking joy, learning new skills, and connecting with others in a fun, welcoming space. From MOMU Craft Nights to special pop-ups, exhibitions and artist-led experiences, you’ll find hands-on opportunities to make, play, and discover something new. No experience needed — just bring your curiosity and leave with a one-of-a-kind creation (and maybe a few new friends)

Opening Reception: Keep Salt Lake Weird

6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

A MOMU Community Art Show

Join us for the opening reception of Keep Salt Lake Weird, a multidisciplinary group exhibition celebrating the quirky, the kooky, and the unexpected details that give our city its character.

This community art show is a love letter to Salt Lake City — honoring the artists, subcultures, hidden gems, and creative spirit that make this place feel like nowhere else. From bold statements to subtle nods only locals will recognize, the work in this exhibition captures the strange, the personal, and the deeply local. It’s the ultimate IYKYK.

Come meet the artists, explore the work, and celebrate the weird, wonderful community we’re building together.

Free and open to the public. No RSVP required.

Let’s keep Salt Lake weird.

Craft for a Cause April

3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Craft for a Cause is a new monthly creative series at MOMU where we gather to make something joyful while supporting organizations doing meaningful work in our community. Each month features a different hands-on craft and a different nonprofit partner—and net ticket proceeds are donated.

Join us for our April Craft for a Cause workshop, where we will be crafting a project (TBA) using up-cycled materials provided by Secondhand Salamander.

April’s beneficiary: Secondhand Salamander — Secondhand Salamander is a “creative reuse center” - basically a thrift store for crafting, art, and DIY supplies. They accept donations of partially-used (or new!) art supplies and offer them to the community at an exceptionally discounted price.

No crafting experience needed—just bring your creativity, your curiosity, and your heart for community. Come solo or bring a friend. You’ll leave with a finished piece, new connections, and the good feeling that comes from giving back.
